CVYF Tackle Football

Overview

  • We have teams from all over the Chippewa Valley. Players get assigned to their local team. If there is no local team in that area for that season due to numbers, we will communicate with the parent(s) and get them assigned to a proper team.
  • CVYF stresses the fundamentals and safety of the sport while encouraging players to become good citizens through positive adult leadership.
  • Fundamentals with additional emphasis placed on tackling and blocking technique.
  • Players will be split evenly onto teams after practices have begun.
  • Teams are under the leadership of the head coach and coaching staff. The coaching staff will communicate out expectations as well as dates and times for practices, games, etc.
  • CVYF coaches are certified through USA Football to ensure they are up to date on the latest techniques, rules, and safety practices.
  • Players are provided with the top rated gear (we inspect, recondition and replace equipment annually).

Ages

Our tackle program is for players who are in 5th & 6th grades for that season.

There is a 7th grade program available for players who are Eau Claire residents only.

The season starts in early August, and ends in late October with our CVYF Classic Day of Champions.

Our main CVYF location is in Chippewa Falls at Weber Fields.

Games

Each team plays in a scrimmage (Annual Tailgate Kickoff Party), 6 regular season games, and one postseason game (Classic Day of Champions).

Games will be played on Saturdays at Weber Fields in Chippewa Falls. However, teams from out of town will also usually host one game a season in their respective hometown, and may play on a Friday evening.

Games are roughly 2 hours in length.

Classic Day of Champions is played at Dorais Field in Chippewa Falls, located at Chi-Hi.

Jerseys

Jerseys are provided. Each jersey is personalized to the player.

Fees

Registration Fee: $200 (Includes equipment rental: helmet, shoulder pads, pants w/pads, personalized jersey, and mouth guard.)

Registration Fee Waiver: We have generous people and businesses in our community who donate to help those who need it to participate in our league. Please complete the Registration Fee Waiver to start the process. We will schedule a meeting to work with you to ensure your child can participate.

Payment plans are available.

Work Shifts

Our league is operated by volunteers whom love the sport and want to provide an opportunity to our youth. In order to ensure we can continue successfully operate while keeping our registration fees down we ask that each player's parents/guardians contribute through completing work shifts.

These shifts are activities that we need extra help with and range from concessions to field maintenance.

We require 2 shifts per player for tackle football of which can be opted out of at $50 per shift ahead of the season. Parents/guardians who coach or are team parents are excluded for that season from the required work shifts.

2025 Season

Dates: Early August - Late October

Fee: $200

It is important to note that parents/guardians are required to work two work shifts for each player they have registered. We are a volunteer organization and having people fill needs helps us keep our registration fees as low as possible. You can choose to work in the concession stand or help with field/building maintenance (typically Wednesday nights). If you serve as a coach, team parent or league officer you would be exempt from this requirement. You also have the choice to opt-out of the requirement at a rate of $50 per shift.
